RADT2340 : Radiographic Biology

This course introduces the student to radiation protection concepts and includes a review of the basic interactions of x-radiation with matter. The radiation quantities and units are discussed in relation to limits for exposure to ionizing gradation and protection of the patient and the occupationally exposed personnel during diagnostic radiographic procedures. Cell biology and the structure of the cell are studied in conjunction with the biologic effects of radiation exposure.
